Welcome to Koma Rock Church of Christ
Koma Rock Church of Christ (KRCoC) is a non-denominational, Bible only, congregation located in Koma Rock estate, Nairobi Kenya. We strive to bring people to a saving faith in Jesus based on the Biblical doctrines and pattern practiced by the first century Christians.
Cognizant of Jesus’ prayer for unity among his followers based on the apostles’ teachings (John 17:20-21), we endeavor to set aside vain religious traditions men (Matt. 15:9) so that we can focus on the pure word of God “which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).
We do so with a heart for God, for the lost, and for each other.
More about us
We believe that eternal God created the heavens and the earth, and everything in them, through his only Son Jesus Christ (Gen 1:1, John 1:1-3, Col. 1:15-17, Heb. 1:2-3). Jesus died for our sins on the cross and rose again from the dead so that through him we can have eternal life (1 Thess. 5:6-10). We have no creed except the Bible as our only source of doctrine and practice.
We believe that the Bible is inspired by God (2 Tim. 3:16) and that the Holy Spirit led those who wrote it into all truth (John 16:13, 14:26) so that through it we have everything we need for life and godliness (2 Pet 1:3-4) and every good work (2 Tim.13:16-17). We believe that the only way of holding out the gospel as a torch for the seekers of truth is hold fast “the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine” (Titus 1:9). In this spirit, we welcome questions and discussions on all things and desire always to conform more to the will of God as revealed in his word.
We preach the gospel of Christ, since there is no other name by which we must be saved except Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). Those who through faith respond to the gospel message are baptized for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 3:21), and the Lord adds them to the church (1 Cor 12:13, Acts 2: 41, 47).
We strive to devote ourselves to the study of, and obedience to, God’s word (Acts 2:47, 2 Pet. 3:1-2). Every Sunday we meet as a church to edify each other (Hebrews 10:24-25, 1 Thess. 5:11, and to partake in the Lord’s Table (Luke 22: 19-20, 1 Cor. 11:23-26, Acts 20:7). We teach each other to be imitators of God by living the new life of love in the footsteps of Christ (Ephesians 5:1-2).
Our worship services are plain and simple with a focus on worshiping God in Spirit and truth (John 4:23-24) rather than on outward blitz and glitz or human traditions. We get our simple pattern from the apostolic churches of the first century as commanded in the New Testament, always striving not to add or subtract from what the Lord has commanded the church.
We have activities that strive to serve different needs in the church. These include the children’s Bible hour, Youth, Teens, Men’s, Women’s, Outreach, House fellowships, among others.
